Week Three Discussion 2

Q Week Three Discussion 2 Think of the group experiences you have had at work, at home, at school, or in any formal or informal organizational environment. Think of “organizational environment” as simply meaning a group of individuals that get together to pursue a goal. Think of a specific example from those experiences, and see which one of the models of group dynamics you will read in Chapter 9 best applies to that example. Choose specifically one from the following theories: the stages of group development, the punctuated-equilibrium model, collective efficacy, cohesion, or social loafing. You can choose an example where the group was highly effective, or an example where the group dynamics became an obstacle to performance. Your main response should be between 250 and 300 words. All posts should add insight to the conversation and be relevant to the discussion question. We recommend that you take advantage of the tutoring available when writing this assignment. Click on "Smarthinking/Online Tutoring" under NEC Resources in the Course Menu to access Smarthinking and receive valuable feedback. Post an original, research-based response to the discussion question by Friday at 11:59 PM EST. Reply to at least two classmates' posts (150 – 250 words) by Sunday at 11:59 PM EST.

I have been a member of so many groups, but the group I choose to discuss is a group of musicians, I play the saxophone and since we are in the festive period the group is planning something spectacular for Christmas carol and some music rendition. This is an informal workgroup because it consists of members who come together for music purposes (Bauer & Erdogan, 2021). The group dynamics were highly effective, but before performing well, some processes were followed. One of the listed theories was used and that is the stage of development. There is a visionary for the group, who had the vision of creating a music team that can come together to produce good music, and honor some invitations from other social groups.
